Nola found this neat trip report by cmkl last night, wherein some folks in Ottawa ran off to the wilderness with canoes and things and learnt the Way of the White Water. I read it with more than passing interest, as Nola's signed me up for an Intro to Moving Water this weekend. It's a fun read, and I quite agree about the thwart-mounted expresso maker. Heck, if this country can put an Arm into space, surely it can mount an expresso maker on a canoe. Dunno about the neoprene, though.
Of course, the gem of all (under Lessons Learned) must be, "canoe over canoe rescue is best attempted when one of the canoes has actually capsized."
