Sheltered By Thy Wings

We've a friend having a 50th birthday party tonight, so we were running around Salamagundie getting a double handful of little toys and such for her this afternoon. Sal's is one of those overstuffed places where the visitor simultaneously wishes herself taller, thinner and infinitely less claustrophobic.

Rummaging through one of the drawers we found something Nola said she had to have for herself: a tiny angelic figure, praying, glow-in-the-dark plastic.

Yeah, yeah, dime a dozen, eh? Hey, this one also had windup wings.

The packaging said it should be stuck onto the buyer's cpu, and would, cross hearts and hope to die, protect your computer against Bad Luck. No doubt in much the same way plastic jesuses with bobby heads protect '56 bonnevilles.

Well, Nola having recently suffered a complete hard drive melt-down (I'm in her office today, restoring from backup), we thought this a worthwhile, nay, timely, find.

(Did I mention you can wind her wings? They beat slightly more slowly than hummingbirds' wings, but not by much. Whrrrrrrrrrrrr!)
