Three years ago, on the 16th of June, 2000, I crossed through the Peace Arch with my Right of Landing paper in one hand, and Nola in the other. Yay us.
Just before we headed out to the Nicola, I got a booklet in the mail from the Citizenship and Immigration people. In it is a whole lot of details and tidbits about Canada that I'm supposed to study up on before taking the citizenship test. That is, unless they decide to fuss about something on my app between now and then.
In it is also this bit about July 1st, 1867:
"... the provinces we now know as Ontario, Quebec, New Brunswick and Nova Scotia joined together to create the new country of Canada."
So, there ya go, eh? Happy Canada Day!
