Resolutions

tankers on bayI fell in love with English Bay on a foggy November day some years ago. On sunny days, the west coast is undeniably beautiful. On misty days, though, it is pure magic.

Things I should work on in 2004:

  1. More coffee. Less beer.
  2. Get married. We've been living in sin quite long enough.
  3. Take down Christmas tree before spring.
  4. Be nicer to Nola. Not that I'm mean to her or anything. It just seems like a good idea.
  5. Get off the beginning cross-country tracks at Cypress. Once, anyway.
  6. In that vein, avoid perfecting face-plow. It's not really a skill.

Things I did in 2003 worth continuing:

  1. Paddled the Nicola River. Mild rivers are within my grasp. I should try to wimp out less.
  2. Drew every day while lazing on the shore of Okanagan Lake. Drawing is an excellent way of justifying indolence. Add in more painting, to justify constant state of untidyness.
  3. Created solid reference weblog on Canadian citizenship resources. Needs to be kept up-to-date.
  4. Quelled impulse to teach cat to yodel. Continued vigilance required here.
  5. Finally got camera. Mustn't let it get dusty.
  6. Persuaded Nola to marry me. Must ensure she does not regret it.

Interestingly enough, one of my resolutions would be “Less coffee, more beer” — maybe you and I should just trade lives every couple of weeks and it would all balance out…

That would confuse the cat, not to mention your Son the Younger.

However, it does seem that we will have to be careful implementing these resolutions, as the Universe is currently balanced and we wouldn’t want to be the cause of more flooding in Colombia.

Okanagan Springs Pale Ale. Buy it. Drink it. Love it. In return, I need suggestions on very dark French roasts not found in Starbucks.
