lewis’s god
- Lewis has a tiny God.
- He keeps It in a box, under his mattress.
- It is a flat box.
- Lewis never turns his mattress.
- Lewis's Godbox has no lid.
- There's a slit in the side.
- A very narrow slit.
- Every night before he goes to sleep,
- he kneels beside his bed.
- He reaches under his mattress,
- past the apple cores,
- and the yellowing newspapers,
- and the runkled magazines,
- to his Godbox.
- He pulls it out and shakes it,
- to wake his God.
- Into the slit he slides, one by one,
- all the things he found that day,
- that he doesn't like.
- Lewis's God whirrrrrrs, clickclickclick,
- munch munch.
- "Feed me, Lewis! Good Lewis!"
- Lewis's God is very small,
- and very hungry.

just by chance, stopping by to check the new version of weather-report, which i used in the past, i stumbled upon this amazing poem. i was hoping for a track-back, but do not see the option :(
since this is not an option, would you mind if i copied it to my site, and of course gave you credit and a link back to your site? (that’s how much i truly like it) :)
if not, no worries.

Aww! That’s really nice of you. I’d kinda prefer you not quote the whole thing, but you may certainly link it. :)
